There are collaborations that happen by chance, and then there are collaborations that feel like coming home. This one is the latter.
I’m thrilled to share a project that has been quietly unfolding behind the scenes: a limited-edition art collection created in partnership with Colombian artist based in Colorado, Natalia McGuffee. Each piece in this series captures a landscape that is deeply personal to me—places woven into my childhood, my design ethos, and the Colorado roots that shape J. Reiko Design + Co.
A Collaboration Born From Shared Storytelling
I first connected with Natalia through our shared love of spaces that feel lived-in and deeply felt. Her work carries a softness—an emotional resonance—that mirrors the way I approach interiors: with intention, reverence, and a belief that surroundings should ground us.
When we began exploring a collaboration, it became clear that we weren’t simply creating artwork; we were creating a story that bridges memory, place, and home.

This collection features a series of Colorado landscapes, each selected not for their postcard beauty but for their meaning.
These are places I grew up with—valleys and ridgelines that have shaped my sense of calm, perspective, and connection. They hold summer dust, winter light, and the kind of quiet you only find on the Western Slope. Natalia captured not just the scenery, but the emotion of these environments: expansive skies, golden grasses, slow-moving horizons, and the sense of exhale that Colorado offers so effortlessly.
Each piece is a tribute—to my home state, to the landscapes that raised me, and to the belief that art becomes its most powerful when it reflects a life lived.

Natalia McGuffee
Natalia is known for her atmospheric, emotionally charged landscapes—paintings that feel both familiar and dreamlike. She has a unique ability to translate memory into movement. Her texture work, her intentional restraint, and her gift for capturing light made her the perfect collaborator for this project.
Working with her has been a joy, and the pieces she created feel like the most honest expression of the Colorado I carry with me.
